I’m sure you know people who have tried, and possibly failed, to build an opt-in list. Maybe you are one of these people. Not all is lost, however. You still have a chance to breathe some life into your list, and get it working for you instead of against you.

Although I know you’re not new to internet marketing, I want to back-track a little and go over some of the points which to help you get your list growing. Your list needs to help, not hinder the growth of your online business. This isn’t a session of pointing fingers. It’s simply a time to make sure you have the information necessary to succeed.

The relationship between you and your opt-in list members must be one of trust. If there is no trust, you will not likely get that person to sign up. If they do they may not stay. Here are a few strategies to build and maintain trust:

#1  They must be able to opt-out.  Make sure each customer signing up for your newsletter or information knows they have a quick and easy option to bow out when they like. A simple checkbox and click for their subscription to be removed should do the trick.  This is actually required by the CAN-SPAM Act.

#2  Offer interesting and valuable content.  To build their trust in you, start providing your readers with valuable and interesting articles, blog and forum posts based on your niche topic. While this may be a lot of work, the benefit of them trusting what you have to say is well worth the time. You will soon be considered an expert in your field, which can easily bring more prospects to your business.

#3  Stick to the 80/20 rule.  People expect a certain amount of marketing when they receive an email however if your email is too heavy on the marketing end, they’re going to drop you like a hot-potato.  Always make sure you offer at least 80% valuable content and around 20% promotional content. Additionally, make sure your marketing content is relevant.

#4  Get them involved.  One great way to breathe life into your opt-in list is to get your readers involved.  Take a poll or survey, and post the results, ask questions and provide feedback.  Create a community with your prospects and customers, it’s a great way to build a business.

#5  Finally, make sure to balance your communications.  There’s a fine line between emailing too often and contacting your opt-in list too infrequently.  Find the balance. Study your click through and open rates.  Test to see what frequency works best for your audience. While most people who sign up will expect contact from you regularly, they aren’t likely to remain happy if you email them several times a day. When creating your opt-in box, try to specify how often you intend to contact them, with room for extra mailings for the occasional special report or bonus.

Your list is the lifeline to your business. If you have nobody to communicate with, who will buy your products? Keeping them happy, waiting in excitement for the next mailing is the key to a happy list. Treat them well, let them trust you, and your list will not only start breathing again, but will have more life in it than ever before.

its up to you. The pros of article marketing are definitely the
fact that once your article gets in the search engines, it can stay
there for years! This is a more permanent method. The pros of PPC
is that you can do it whenever you want and promote whatever you
want, but it costs money and requires maintenance. We also
recommend publishing a press release, with your landing page or
review, (Don’t forget your affiliate link)

Q: Where can I get banners for sites featured in the CNP campaigns
page?

A: At the bottom of the product website, there will be an
“affiliate” link. Click on that link to access the affiliate page.
Here you can copy and paste banners and graphics to use on your own
sites.

Q: Which sites do you recommend?

A: We recommend all of them, but with different methods. The larger
niches are harder to promote but get tons of traffic, so the stakes
are higher. The smaller ones are easier and higher converting, but
have less traffic. Alot of professional affiliates consider the
smaller ones more “realistic.” So if you are a newbie, this is
probably the best way to go.

Q: Are there any other methods that you would recommend?

A: You might also look into starting a website with a mailing list.
If you like to write letters, this can be fun & profitable, just
remember to pick a niche that is sustainable (The customers will
keep purchasing the same products from you) and keep it targeted.
Make sure to be Can Spam Compliant, have a proper Opt-in email list
and “Opt-out” option.

Q: If everyone is promoting the same products, won’t everything get
super competitive?

A: No. Even if you were direct linking and 5000 people were
promoting the same product, google would evenly show all ads.
Create a landing page with domain, you will compete regularly and
google will show your ads full time.

Q: Does “expired domain traffic” work?

A: No

Sometimes it takes some time before you see the first sale but as long as you drive traffic you will see leads and eventually you will see sales. Looking back to year 2008 which is actually my second year as a full time Internet Entrepreneur, there are so many things happening in my business.

My business is growing along with the time. I learned so many things in year 2008.

I tested so many methods to make money online but in the end always the basic things bring the most results.

What are the basic things?

1. List Building/List cultivating: I have been trying to tap so many different traffic sources but again when it comes to the traffic that brings money, my optin lists out perform other sources. So if you haven’t build your own opt-in list, I suggest you to focus on it in 2009. It’s still the proven method to make money online and if you have a list you are literally having the ability to print money.

2. JOINT VENTURE: I have to emphasize this. JV is the basic type of making money online but many people especially newbies confused about it. I was a newbie once, I build lists and I finally crack the JOINT VENTURE code. Once I master this skill I can get what I want for my business for FREE. Yeah I mean it…

When I need a product to sell I can get the product created for free. I remember my first viral site was giving away a link management software. Now let me tell you that I never wrote a single code for that software, I just contacted the developer and I told him that I want to create a giveaway site (butterfly marketing style) based on his shareware, and I gave him the benefits if I can spread his software on the net and he agreed…so I can use the software and create my first butterfly site which built my first list so fast, I reached 3K members in just few months at the time and I started it from scratch.

Oh by the way… if you think I was rich at the time and managed to create butterfly site then let me tell you the truth…. You maybe know that when butterfly script launched it was very expensive (over $1000) so I could not afford the script but I really want to have a site that apply the butterfly marketing method.

Everyone wants to have their site rank well in Google.
